What we collect, and why

When you buy
  • Your name, email address, country and ZIP or postal code, and the details of your order. We need these to take payment, send your key, work out any sales tax, keep records the law requires, and help you if something goes wrong.
  • An account under My Account, made at checkout, so you can find your order and key later.
  • Payment. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are handled by WooPayments, run by Automattic using Stripe. Your card details go to them, not to us. We see the card type, the last four digits and whether the payment went through. Their privacy policies: Automattic and Stripe.
When you activate and use Tertiary

Tertiary talks to our licence server on wonderlandaudio.com only to activate a key and to deactivate it. From version 1.1 it also checks the key about once a week and asks whether a newer version is out. Each time, it sends:

  • the email address and key you entered,
  • a machine ID, a code generated from your computer so that each computer counts once against the five-machine limit,
  • your operating system and the Tertiary version.

The server’s logs also record the IP address each request comes from. The server stores your email, your key, the machine IDs activated with it, and when each was activated and last checked. We use this to enforce the five-machine limit, to let you move seats, to switch off refunded keys, and to tell you about updates.

Tertiary does not send any audio, project information, or information about how you use it.

When you browse the site
  • Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) records pages visited, roughly where visitors are (city level), the device and browser, where they came from (for example a forum link or an ad), and certain actions: clicks on the demo download buttons, adding Tertiary to the cart, and use of the in-browser demo (the first play, each play, the total time played, and the fact that you loaded your own audio file, never its name or contents). It uses cookies. Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • The in-browser demo. If you load your own audio into it, the file is decoded and played inside your browser. It is never uploaded, to us or to anyone else.
  • Spam protection. The My Account page (login and registration) uses Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at your browser and behaviour to tell people from bots. Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Hosting. The site runs on WordPress.com (Automattic), with Jetpack, which keeps server logs (including IP addresses) for security and backups, and counts page views with Jetpack Stats. https://automattic.com/privacy/
When we email you
  • Order and key emails are sent through Google Workspace (Gmail) from support@wonderlandaudio.com, using the WP Mail SMTP plugin. Google processes those messages. If you write to us, your email and our replies are kept in that mailbox.

Cookies

These are the cookies the site sets:

Cookie Set by What for Needed?
woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_… WooCommerce Remember your cart through checkout, from the moment you add Tertiary to it Yes, the store doesn’t work without them
wordpress_logged_in_… and related WordPress Keep you logged in to My Account Only when you log in
wla_consent, wp_consent_… This site Remember your cookie choice, for six months Yes, once you have made a choice
sbjs_… WooCommerce order attribution Remember how you arrived (for example from a search or a link), so it can be noted with an order No
_ga, _ga_PBEKFGJGSP Google Analytics Count visits and actions No

Your choice. If your browser is set to a European time zone, a small bar at the bottom of the page asks you to Accept or Reject the cookies that aren’t needed, the first time you visit. Until you accept, Google Analytics sets no cookies for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland and sends only cookieless measurements (Google’s Consent Mode), and WooCommerce’s order attribution cookies are not set. Reject keeps it that way. Visitors elsewhere get these cookies by default and can turn them off the same way. One exception for now: the in-browser demo runs in its own frame with its own Google Analytics tag, which does not yet follow this choice.

To change your choice at any time, use Cookie settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking WooCommerce’s cart cookies stops the cart from working.

Who we share it with

Only the services above, and only for the reasons above: payment (WooPayments and Stripe), hosting (WordPress.com), email (Google Workspace), analytics (Google) and spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA). We do not sell your information to anyone.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Orders, invoices and payment records: 7 years, for tax records.
  • Licence records (email, key, machine IDs): for as long as the key is valid, so you can keep using and moving it.
  • Google Analytics data about individual visits: 2 months. After that only totals remain, such as how many people visited in a month.
  • Support emails: 3 years after the last message.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for analytics. You can also change your cookie choice at any time under Cookie settings. Write to support@wonderlandaudio.com. If you delete your licence record, your key will stop working, so we will check with you first. We keep order records the law requires us to keep.

If you are in the EU, the UK or another place with similar laws: we use your order and licence information because we need it to sell and support your licence; analytics cookies only with your consent (see Cookies); and server logs and fraud checks because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the store safe. You can complain to your local data protection authority.

Our services are based in the United States, so your information is processed there.

Children

The site and Tertiary are not aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll say so on the home page.
